Environment Modelling (Meta Quest 2 Platform)

Reception Area (Familiarisation Zone)

For this project a client wanted one of their branches’ reception space to be recreated in a virtual environment for use as a familiarisation zone in VR. The idea was to recreate a space the users know to ground them in reality whilst in VR. My job was to faithfully recreate the space in a stripped back fashion (removing unnecessary extras and clutter) whilst making it well optimised for the Meta Quest platform. I never got to visit the place in person so it was modelled entirely from a single 360 Image which was provided to me. I did all of the modelling in Blender and then created tillable textures in Substance where possible. As well as recreating the room virtually yhrere was also to be some additions to the room. These included an upstairs room and downstairs room. I had no reference for these which meant I just had to create something that worked and fitted with the layout of the room.

Basic Render of the Environment Alone

As well as recreating the room virtually there was also to be some additions to the room. These included an upstairs room and downstairs room. I had no reference for these which meant I just had to create something that worked and fitted with the layout of the room.

This render was done in Blender soon after the initial environment was completed. This was then taken in Unity for use as the familiarisation zone for the project.
